About Edge of Seven

We believe that investing in girls and women in developing countries is the best strategy to counter global poverty.  We also think that Americans need to get out and see the world in order to understand the challenges that we face globally.

The mission of Edge of Seven is to generate awareness and volunteer support for projects that invest in education, health, and economic opportunity for girls in developing countries.  We empower girls by championing grassroots development efforts that are community focused, locally driven, and sustainable.  It is our goal to make a measurable difference in the villages that we serve with a chain of dedicated volunteers over time.

“Young people often ask us how they can help address issues like sex trafficking or international poverty.  Our first recommendation to them is to get out and see the world.”

–Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn, Half the Sky

  1. You rock. I love that I know you in real life so I’m not just stuck being an awestruck virtual admirer. If I can figure out how to wriggle out of this whole motherhood thing for a few weeks, Nepal will be my first stop.

    Hey Gutte!

I was just catching up on your blog and am so so proud of you. You are making a real difference, sister! My only disappointment is that I couldn’t get it together to come over and volunteer myself – let me know if you need more people and I’ll try to make it happen.

Be well and keep up the absolutely amazing work. I’ll be cheering you on from D.C.

    Lots of love,
    Bicky.
