The Power of Connection

In November 2010, we began construction on a hostel in the Everest region of Nepal.  The dorm will house 40 girls from rural areas where higher education, grades 11 and 12, is not accessible.  For those of us who have traveled to Nepal, our lives have been altered by the warmth of strangers against a backdrop of incredible poverty.  For those who have not been fortunate enough to witness the sparkle of the Himalayas, venture through seemingly undending rice paddy fields, or drink cup after cup of chiya, I’d like to introduce to you the girls of Nepal.  I hope that you can take four minutes to listen to their stories.

A very special thank you to Lauren Schneck for her volunteer efforts to put this video together!
