4 Days. 2 Girls. 1 Story.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”  – Margaret Mead

Dear Team Edge of Seven,

First, I want to say thank you to everyone who has donated and helped to spread the word about our Kickstarter project for “The Mountain Between Us,” a film about two girls, Khila and Purnima, who are out to defy the odds, receive an education, and bring progress to their villages in rural Nepal. We’ve come a long way in the past few weeks and couldn’t have done it without the support of friends like you!

Today, with just four days left to raise the additional $1,363 needed for this film, we’re asking for your support one more time.

Our goal in telling the inspiring stories of these girls is to raise more awareness about the importance of and need for universal education in developing countries so that we can bring more resources for education to girls in rural Nepal.

When I was a teenager, my days were filled with sports and friends and my biggest problems centered on curfew negotiations with my parents. Girls like Khila and Purnima spend their days doing back-breaking work farming their family’s fields, collecting firewood, and selling vegetables to pay for their schooling. Whereas my teenage days were filled with opportunity and promise, theirs are filled with chores and uncertainty.

Here are four small things you can do today to help us meet our goal:

  1. Donate $4.  Trade your morning latte for lasting change.
  2. Send this email to four people you know and ask them to do the same.
  3. Post the trailer on your Facebook page or send it out on Twitter and ask your friends and followers for their support.
  4. Make a donation and then challenge four of your co-workers or friends to match it.

Thanks again for your support.
