Great Granddaughters: An Edge of Seven event
Edge of Seven excited to announce our Event for 2016 is titled: Great Granddaughters. Join us on October 6th at the Posner Center for International Development (1031 33rd St, Denver, CO 80205) for a great evening of celebration. DETAILS HERE.
Our focus is on sustainable development that breaks down barriers for girls and women to get an education and pull themselves out of poverty. Our impact in rural communities in Nepal, Kenya, and Rwanda is twofold: We support building structures that allow girls and women to get an education AND we support building a community’s ability to do this work on their own. Every community. Every time. In as many ways as we can. Our goal is that the next need, desire, project, program or necessity that they see that the community is better able to handle the challenge themselves. Build a building. Build a community.
And all of that is with the principle in mind that we are focusing on great granddaughters. FOCUS ON FUTURE GENERATIONS. When we are thinking, talking to communities, discussing needs, or designing buildings we’re thinking about the great granddaughters of the women in each community. Will they be able to use the infrastructure? You bet!
This event is created to support those efforts. We’ll have a great speaker (TBD) who can speak to the importance of women and girls in the developing world. We’ll have a wine pull, a raffle, a silent auction, a live auction and a great collection of photography from the countries where we work. In the auctions we will have travel opportunities, date night options, dining, sports, outdoor equipment, clothing, activities, and vacation packages. We’ll have food and drink to make your evening a fun and enjoyable way to wind down your Thursday night. We can’t wait to share with you all the great things that Edge of Seven is up to and welcome you to an inspiring and fun evening.
We’ll be gathering at the Posner Center for International Development (1031 33rd St, Denver, CO 80205) on October 6th, 2016. Doors open at 4:30pm, keynote address at 6:00pm.
